The SmartCity project was launched in Malta in 2007 to generate more than 8,500 employment opportunities for Maltese and foreign residents. The SmartCity project is a technology park built on the Ricasoli Industrial Estate, and when completed this development will be a state-of-the-art information technology and media city, based upon the Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media city.

Opening up a world of opportunities, SmartCity has already begun attracting investors and businesses and has encouraged many to set up residence in the surrounding area, particularly in the nearby town of Marsascala. The Ta’ Monita Residence is a strategic development, recently completed and promoting a new standard of residences in the south of Malta. Coupled with the nearby SmartCity development, Marsascala is fast becoming one of Malta’s up-and-coming business destinations.

SmartCity itself provides exceptional lifestyle amenities including infrastructure, hospitals, schools, higher education, child day care facilities, retail, recreation facilities, hotels, hospitality complexes, gyms, health clubs, leisure centres, an amphitheatre, lagoon and specially designated public spaces. The area, when completed, will provide a complete lifestyle experience, rejuvenating the south of the island and placing Marscascala on the international map.

Comprising more than 360,000 square metres of spectacular coastline between Ricasoli Point, Marscascala Bay and Grand Harbour, Valletta, the SmartCity development offers a harmonious landscape of offices, retail and residential facilities and beautiful open landscape. SmartCity is transforming Malta’s economy and boosting knowledge in the ICT and media sectors, showcasing Malta as a new destination for the ICT industries. This development is certain to spur investors and development across a wide bridge of sectors in Malta.

All environments within SmartCity Malta adhere to international sustainability standards, protecting the environment and providing all of its inhabitants with healthy and comfortable places to work. The master planning of this luxurious development is the blueprint for future developments in Malta, and the well-organised infrastructure ensures streamlined day to day operations, utmost wellbeing and a truly enjoyable and safe lifestyle experience.
